Feasibility Analysis

MBE provides feasibility analyses for projects to help determine the best commercial pathway. With your input we tailor the analysis to consider your location and climate, current capabilities, water sources, any preliminary research data you have generated, and other co-product/resource integration. 

The analysis can detail the use of algae as a feed for animals, biofuel, or for industrial/agricultural wastewater treatment, with descriptions of alternative algae species for each as applicable. Using the latest information from vendors and suppliers we can prepare a review of harvesting, dewatering, drying technologies, and any conversion or upgrading requirements. This type of information and data is not available from publications or websites and would be specifically tailored for your project. 

 

Custom Conceptual Facility Design

MicroBio Engineering can provide custom facility concepts and studies tailored to your specific needs. These can include 3D-renderings, geospatial modelling, and other key tools to help you visualize and advance your project toward deployment. Site selection is a critical part of this process, and MBE brings extensive experience in evaluating local topography, utilities, resource availability, and regulatory factors to ensure the most effective and practical facility design.

Process Studies

MBE helps visualize your project through initial material and energy balance analysis paired with process flow diagrams. These first steps provide a solid foundation for future work and—when paired with our experience—can identify major hurdles in advance. This service is valuable at any stage of development, from pilot-scale systems to full commercial implementation. Process studies are expanded upon in a technoeconomic analysis, another service we offer.
