The Algae Raceways tanks are constructed of rotational-molded food-grade HDPE with UV stabilizer which creates a seamless tank that is extremely durable and light weight. Customization is easy with standard tools. The tank is also fully recyclble at the end of its life.
Transparent Paddle Wheels
It’s all about grams per square meter! At research scale your areal productivity numbers are important which is why you need to replicate how algae grow at a large scale. Any shading from opaque paddle wheels, center dividers, turning vanes, etc. will skew your productivity. The use of clear materials greatly reduces shading in the raceways.
Plastic parts are easiliy modified, repaired, and replaced. Pillow blocks are made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene and never require any grease or maintenance. Food grade materials available on request.
Two 2-inch (5-cm) diameter NPT threaded bulkhead fittings per raceway; metric adapter bushings available. One drain is flush with the pond floor for complete draining, and the second is slightly elevated to allow for stand pipe attachment.
Washdown Gear Motor
3-phase inverter-duty gear motor. Meets strict energy conservation requirements. IP-65 rating with all gearing enclosed allows for complete washdown, limited maintenance, and long life.
Recycled UV-resistant HDPE rack. The sturdy frame support system is shipped disassembled and can be put together in a matter of minutes. No tools are required for installation. Raceways are elevated to allow for above-ground piping and gravity transfer to next size up raceway.
A centralized CO2 manifold with solenoid valves automatically doses CO2 into algae raceways to control pH.
Magnetic Probe Rack
A simple magnetic probe rack allows for easy installation and level adjustment. Plastic tensioning screws keep your sensors in place and allow for tool-free inspection and cleaning.
